Relationships matter when building an advisor practice – everybody says it, but nobody does it quite as well as David Hou.
Evoke Advisors completed and submitted an application to AdvisorHUB for consideration of inclusion in its Advisors to Watch ranking. Participation is open to all firms and advisors. Nominees are required to have a minimum of seven years experience, $100m minimum AUM, and a clean regulatory record. The Advisors to Watch ranking uses three main criteria in its methodology: (1) Scale: This is the traditional metric used in most rankings. It’s essentially the size of the business and its profitability, and also considers staffing, clientele, and several other factors. This in aggregate provides a snapshot of the size and sophistication of a practice; (2) Growth: This includes the year-over-year change in assets, households and production. The ranking tries to bias for organic growth over mergers and acquisitions, and also factors in market conditions. The ranking wants practices that are growing aggressively regardless of their size; and (3) Professionalism: Regulatory record, community involvement, professional credentials, and team diversity. The ranking is broken into several sublists: RIAs (fee-only), Over $1b, Under $1b, Next Gen, Women, Solo, and Fast-Growing. These subcategories compensate for the wide range of business models in the industry. Participation in this ranking is free, and AdvisorHub receives no compensation from the participating advisors.
