Damien is a Managing Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer at Evoke-ARIS. He has over 20 years of experience advising some of the world’s leading institutional investors and financial companies on investment and risk management issues. Damien began his career at Oliver Wyman, a premier financial services advisory firm. As a consultant, he focused on risk management at global banks and insurance companies. After Oliver Wyman, Damien spent nearly a decade as a Senior Client Advisor and Senior Investment Associate at Bridgewater Associates, one of the world’s largest hedge fund managers. In this role, Damien was responsible for managing relationships across more than 50 North American institutional clients – including endowments, foundations, pension plans and family offices – ranging in size from $1 billion to $100 billion. Damien advised institutional CIOs on a range of investment topics, including portfolio construction, manger selection and asset-liability management. While at Bridgewater, Damien participated in the rigorous Investment Associate program, a requisite for Bridgewater’s senior investment professionals, which included ongoing testing and education around the global economy and financial markets. In 2014, Damien co-founded ARIS with business partner Alex Shahidi, with whom he oversaw ARIS’ investment research and client service functions.
Damien graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a BSE in operations research and financial engineering.
Eric is a Managing Partner of Evoke-Aris. Prior to joining the firm, Eric was a Managing Director of Bel Air Investment Advisors. Eric joined Bel Air in 2004 and was responsible for providing investment advice to his clients and was a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. Eric specializes in planning for liquidity events, complex financial modeling for multi-generational estates, and investment manager evaluation.
Eric is a board member of The Friends of EXPO Center, which benefits at-risk youth and families in Los Angeles. Eric also supports various education related non-profit organizations in Los Angeles and is a member of the Los Angeles chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).
Eric received a B.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Government from Claremont McKenna College.
Peter is a Partner at Evoke-ARIS. Peter has been advising wealthy families and institutional investors since 2008, when he helped launch Luminous Capital. In addition to working closely with numerous clients, Peter has been instrumental in building out the team’s technology and performance reporting platforms. Peter joined First Republic as a Wealth Manager through the acquisition of Luminous Capital in 2012.
Peter received a BS in management science from the University of California, San Diego. He lives in Manhattan Beach with his wife and two children.
Eva has been working with wealthy families and institutional clients since 2013. She began her career in wealth management when she joined the former Luminous Capital team as a Client Service Associate at First Republic Investment Management. She helped launch Evoke Wealth in 2019 where she continues to oversee and monitor client portfolios and serve as clients’ main point-of-contact for account inquires. Eva graduated with a BA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
Dillon is a Senior Vice President of Evoke-Aris. Prior to joining the firm, Dillon was a Vice President at Bel Air Investment Advisors and was responsible for providing investment advice to individuals, families, and foundations. Dillon specializes in tactical portfolio allocation and risk management for multi-generational estates. Prior to Bel Air, Dillon worked at JPMorgan in Dallas, Texas and Los Angeles, California where he specialized in the structuring and underwriting of complex credits for private clients. In addition, he worked to deepen client relationships by helping those individuals achieve their investment goals through sound investment planning and implementation.
Dillon was nominated and selected as a member of the 2016/2017 class of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Rising Stars program. Dillon served a mission in southern Japan where he became fluent in Japanese. He is an eagle scout and an active volunteer of the Boy Scouts of America, his church, and organizations supporting youth education and development.
Dillon earned his B.S. with an emphasis in finance from BYU’s Marriott School of Management.
Brendan is a Senior Vice President at Evoke-ARIS, a $19 billion registered investment advisor. He focuses on institutional and high net worth clients on the East Coast. Previously, Brendan was a Partner and Head of North America at Partners Capital Investment Group, a leading global investment office. At Partners Capital, Brendan served many of the firm’s largest US institutional and not-for-profit clients, including university and secondary school endowments. Brendan began his career at Jefferies & Company as an analyst in the technology investment banking group. He also serves on the board of Steve’s Club National Program, a national non-profit that provides low- or no-cost fitness and nutrition education to disadvantaged youth.
Scott is a Partner at Evoke-ARIS. Scott has been working with wealthy families and institutional clients since 2002. He spent six years at Merrill Lynch in the Private Banking and Investment Group, three in New York City providing comprehensive financial planning advice to wealthy families and three in Los Angeles. In 2008, Scott helped launch Luminous Capital and joined First Republic Bank through its acquisition of Luminous Capital in 2012. Scott is a Certified Financial Planner™, and Forbes has repeatedly recognized him as one of America’s Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors.
Scott received a BA in Politics from Princeton University. He is on the board of March of Dimes, Los Angeles and is active with SCS Noonan Scholars and Friends of Princeton Volleyball. Scott lives in Pacific Palisades with his wife and two children.
Stefano is an Associate Director at Evoke Wealth, having originally joined the team as an Associate at First Republic Bank in 2018. Prior to joining the team, Stefano worked at BNY Mellon Wealth Management and Mozaic LLC where he gained extensive experience in providing service to high net worth individuals and families. Stefano earned his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Los Angeles, and currently holds the series 65 certification.
Jane is the Chief Financial Officer and Partner of Evoke-Aris. She was most recently the Chief Financial Officer at Bel Air Investment Advisors. She joined Bel Air in 2013 and was appointed to the firm’s Management Committee in recognition of her contributions beyond Finance.
Jane has extensive experience in building effective financial and business operations and has been recognized as the SFVBJ CFO of the Year and a finalist for LABJ CFO of the Year. She has worked as the Chief Financial Officer of MetLife Investors Group, Loanweb.com and the National Notary Association. She started her career with Ernst & Young.
Jane is a Certified Public Accountant as well as FINRA Series 27 and Series 99 Financial and Operations Principal. She graduated with a B.S. in Accounting from Loyola Marymount University. She is an avid runner.
David is a Managing Partner of Evoke-ARIS. He has served as a financial adviser to wealthy families and institutional clients since 1992. David began his career in the Goldman, Sachs & Co. Private Client Services Group and six years later joined Merrill Lynch to help build the Private Banking and Investment Group. In 2008, David and his partners founded Luminous Capital, which First Republic Bank acquired in 2012. While at First Republic, David served as a Senior Managing Director and was a member of the Altair Alternative Investment Committee, the bank’s private investments platform. Barron’s and Forbes have ranked David perennially as one of the Top 100 Wealth Advisors in the country.
David received a BS in economics/business from UCLA and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He is an advisory board member of the UCLA Anderson School Fink Center for Finance and Investments. He also is a trustee and chair of the Finance Committee at Carlthorp School in Santa Monica. David is an active supporter of SCS Noonan Scholars, a foundation providing funding and support for inner city college-bound youth. David lives in Pacific Palisades with his wife and four children.
Kareem has been working with investment funds, wealthy families, and institutional investors since 2013. He began his financial services career at KPMG in the Alternative Investment Tax department where he worked on tax preparation, planning, and internal audits for hedge funds, private equity funds, and other alternative investment vehicles. Prior to joining Evoke, he served as a Director at First Republic Bank's alternative investment platform, where his main responsibilities included coordinating investment fund operations, reviewing fund accounting and records, and preparing financial statements for audits.
Kareem received a BA in Economics and Accounting from UC Santa Barbara. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst® and a Certified Public Accountant. He lives in West Los Angeles.
Kim is a Partner at Evoke-ARIS. Kim has served as a financial adviser to wealthy families and institutional clients since 2005, when she began her wealth management career at Merrill Lynch, leading research and operations for the team in the Private Banking and Investment Group. In 2008, Kim and her partners founded Luminous Capital, where she served as the Chief Investment Officer and advised select clients until First Republic Bank acquired the firm in 2012. At First Republic, Kim served as a Managing Director and was a member of the Alternative Investments Committee, (the bank’s private investments platform), as well as a member of the firm’s Asset Allocation Committee. Prior to wealth management, Kim spent 12 years in investment banking at major firms, including Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers, where she was responsible for raising approximately $5 billion in the public and private capital markets.
Kim received a BS in economics from Rutgers University, an MBA in finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Based in San Diego where she lives with her husband, Kim serves on the Scripps Clinic & Green Hospital Advisory Board and actively supports animal charities, including Road Dogs & Rescue.
Adrian is an Associate at Evoke Advisors, responsible for performance reporting, maintaining our portfolio management system and other business support applications. Adrian began his career in the financial services industry with First Republic Investment Management, joining the former Luminous Capital Team as a Performance ReportingAssociate in 2018.
Upon their formation in 2019, Adrian was asked to join theEvoke team and has been integral to the development and efficient operation of the firm’s portfolio management and CRM systems supporting a diverse group of advisors serving high net-worth clients.
Adrian received a B.S. in Finance with an option in Financial Analysis from the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics at California State University Northridge in May of 2018and is a life-long resident of the Los Angeles area.
Melanie is a Vice President at Evoke-ARIS, having originally joined the team as an Associate at First Republic Bank in 2015. Prior to joining the team, she completed Bank of America’s Leadership Development Training Program in San Francisco, and gained experience in financial advisement with Bank of America throughout her college tenure.
Melanie completed her undergraduate work at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is expected to earn her MBA at UCLA’s Anderson School of Business by June 2021. She is a licensed investment advisor representative with the Series 65 license.
Tyler is the Chief Operating Officer and Partner of Evoke-Aris. He was most recently the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Managing Director at Bel Air Investment Advisors. He joined Bel Air in 2005 and shortly after that became the youngest partner in the firm's history. At Bel Air Tyler was a member of the firm’s five-person Management Committee. Prior to Bel Air, Tyler worked in the strategic planning group at AECOM and was an investment banker at Goldman, Sachs & Co.
Active in the community, Tyler is a trustee of The Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association, and Chair of its annual Beastly Ball, the organization's largest event and fundraiser. Tyler is a past Mayoral-appointed Los Angeles City Zoo Commissioner, and past Chairman of the Los Angeles County Commission on Local Government Services, where he was the youngest to serve in this leadership role. He is also a board member on the Wrigley Institute for Environmental Studies and was on the steering committee for the celebration of the Oceanic Society’s 50th anniversary.
Tyler graduated with honors from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in International Relations and Political Science, where he served as the student body president in 2000. Upon graduation, Tyler was named one of eighteen Henry R. Luce scholars in a nationwide competition that took him to Jakarta, Indonesia where he worked for leading entry market strategy firm, the Castle Group.
A regular speaker on leadership development topics, Tyler is often quoted on various subject matters in publications, including The Los Angeles Times and Investment Advisor Magazine, for his work in the not-for-profit community. Tyler is also an avid fly fisherman and adventure traveler and has visited close to ninety countries.
Dan is currently Chief Compliance Officer at Evoke Advisors and has over ten years of operational and financial management experience with private wealth management firms serving ultra-high net worth clients. He has supported multiple industry award-winning advisors(1) and is dedicated to providing distinguished service at the highest fiduciary levels.
Dan was instrumental in the formation and development of Luminous Capital from its inception until it was purchased by First RepublicInvestment Management in 2012. He remained imbedded with the team until 2019 when he joined Evoke Advisors upon its formation.
Dan transitioned to the private wealth management industry from corporate finance, reporting and internal controls for Bakemark Ingredients, a national bakery ingredients manufacturer and distributor. His career there began as a branch controller in Seattle and concluded as the corporate controller in their Los Angeles headquarters. While there he was responsible for aggregating and reporting financial results and metrics from over a dozen branches nation-wide.
Dan grew up in Eastern Washington where he graduated with honors from Washington State University with a B.S. degree in finance and minor in computer science. He relocated to Los Angeles over 15 years ago for work and currently resides in the Los Angeles area.

Kristen is a Vice President at Evoke-ARIS. With over a decade of experience, she began her career as a Client Service Associate at Bridgewater Associates in Westport, CT. After moving to California, she worked as the Director at The Help Company, one of the country’s leading recruitment firms. In 2014, Kristen joined ARIS at its launch, rising to Director of Client Service where she oversees all account administration and maintenance. She works with new and existing clients, assisting them with all day-to-day account inquires. She also serves as a liaison with custodians and outside vendors. She helps manage client relationships and supports all facets of the advisory process and client experience.
Russ has over 10 years of financial industry experience, including the last 5 years in the investment advisory business. Russ is currently a Vice President at Evoke-ARIS, supervising the performance reporting, portfolio management and other business support systems. Russ has broad experience in multiple custodians, performance and reporting platforms dating back to 2015 when he joined First Republic Investment Management where he supported the FRIML division. Prior to working in the investment advisory field, Russ spent 5 years in the banking industry where he transitioned from retail services to quality assurance specialist, overseeing credit risk, audits and responsibilities for procedural compliance and development. Russ received a BS in Business Administration from the City University of Seattle.
Darell is a Managing Partner of Evoke-Aris. Before joining the firm, Darell was a co-founder and Senior Managing Director of Bel Air Investment Advisors. Prior to that Darell was a Managing Director of Goldman, Sachs & Co., overseeing Private Client Services for the Los Angeles office, where he started his investment career in 1981. Darell is regularly sourced for expert commentary on publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Businessweek, CNBC, FOX Business, and The Associated Press.
Darell is on the Board of College Track, a nationwide not for profit that helps disadvantaged high school students get to and through college. He is the past Chairman and current member of the Board of L.A. Team Mentoring, an organization that provides mentors for approximately 1,500 students at ten middle schools in challenging urban neighborhoods in Los Angeles. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem. He is on the Board of the Music Center Foundation in Los Angeles, where he is the Vice-Chairman.
Darell holds a B.A. from Occidental College, and a M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Management.
Chris is an Associate at Evoke Wealth, joining the team in July 2019. Previously, he worked as an intern for the team at First Republic Bank in the summer of 2018.
Chris received a BBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business in May 2019, and holds the series 65 certification.
Jason is a Partner at Evoke-ARIS. Jason began his career in the financial services industry in 1999, working in trading and research capacities in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. In 2010, he joined Luminous Capital to serve as a financial adviser to wealthy families and institutions. He then served as a Senior Vice President at First Republic through its acquisition of Luminous Capital in 2012, providing investment advice to high-net-worth families.
Jason received a BA in political science from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the Michigan Ross School of Business. He serves as the treasurer of the Manhattan Beach Preschool Parents Association and lives in Manhattan Beach with his wife and three children.
Josh is the Director of Investment Research at Evoke-ARIS. He has seven years of investment manager research experience spanning public and private markets with an emphasis on alternative strategies. Josh joined ARIS in March 2020 from First Pacific Advisors (FPA) where he spent four years as Vice President on the research team, covering alternative investment strategies and external managers. Josh joined First Pacific Advisors from Dorchester Capital where he started his career, spending two years as an Analyst after a one-and-a-half-year internship.
Josh graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Southern California in fall 2013.
Amanda began her career in wealth management in 2015 when she joined the former Luminous Capital Team as a Client Service Associate at First Republic. In 2019, she helped start Evoke Wealth where she continues to help oversee clients’ portfolios. Amanda graduated summa cum laude from Pepperdine University with a BA in economics and minor in mathematics and from the University of Southern California with a Masters in economics.
Will has been working with wealthy families and institutional investors since 2011. He began his financial services career at Bradford & Marzec (now part of Tortoise Credit Strategies), a Los Angeles based fixed income asset manager, serving as a Research Associate and Quantitative Portfolio Analyst. Will joined the former Luminous Capital team at First Republic Investment Management in 2013 as a Client Service Associate where responsibilities ranged from general account maintenance to creating highly customized solutions to meet complex client needs. He helped launch Evoke Wealth in 2019.
Will received his BS in Finance from California State Polytechnic University - Pomona. He lives in West Los Angeles.
Dan is an Investment Advisor at Evoke | ARIS. Dan joined ARIS as a research analyst at the firm’s inception in 2014 and has spent the past 6 years working with institutional and ultra-high-net-worth investors. Dan works with clients to design creative investment solutions for long-term portfolio growth.
Concurrently with his business, Dan plays professional 3x3 Basketball for the USA. Competing in 25 countries over the past three years on behalf of USA Basketball, he hopes to represent his country in the new sport’s inaugural Olympics in Tokyo 2021.
Dan graduated from Princeton University in 2011 with a degree in Economics where he was the captain of the Ivy League championship basketball team. After graduating, he spent several years playing professionally in the top divisions of Greece and Italy. An LA native, Dan grew up in Santa Monica and is an advocate for community organizations fighting for human rights and homelessness.
Monika is a Partner at Evoke-ARIS. Monika has been advising wealthy families and institutional investors since 2005. She began her financial services career at Merrill Lynch in the Private Banking and Investment Group. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, she served as a Manager at Accenture, a global management consulting firm, where she collaborated with senior executives to develop and implement strategic programs for technology companies. In 2008, Monika helped launch Luminous Capital. She joined First Republic as a wealth manager through its acquisition of Luminous Capital in 2012.
Monika received a BA in economics with a minor in accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). A Certified Financial Planner™, she earned her Certificate in Personal Financial Planning, with distinction, from UCLA Extension. She lives in Manhattan Beach with her husband and two children.
Andrew is a Managing Partner of Evoke-Aris. Prior to joining the firm, Andrew was a Senior Managing Director of Bel Air Investment Advisors. At Bel Air, Andrew led one of the five advisory teams and provided investment advice to individuals, families, and foundations. Andrew served on both the Bel Air’s Board of Directors and its Management Committee.
Prior to Bel Air, Andrew was a senior financial advisor at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc., where he specialized in equity and fixed income portfolio management for high net worth individuals. Andrew began his investment career in 1996 and has been honored multiple times as one of Barron’s Top 100 Independent Financial Advisors.
Andrew served on the Board of Directors of the California Oncological Research Institute (CORI), the John Wayne Cancer Institute at St. John’s Hospital, and Jewish Vocational Services. He is an active participant in the Jewish Federation Temple Isaiah and previously served as a board member at Wildwood School in Los Angeles.
Andrew received his B.A. from the University of Denver. He is an avid golfer and fly fisherman.
Krish is the Director of Investment Research at Evoke-ARIS. Previously, he was with Bel Air Investment Advisors where he specialized in the qualitative and quantitative due diligence of investment management firms. He also conducted strategy specific research across alternative investments and international equities. Krish started his investment career on the advisory desk at Bel Air assisting in analytics and portfolio management for high net worth families and foundations.
Krish earned a B.A. in Economics from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Krish holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Los Angeles. He enjoys beach volleyball, cooking and traveling in his free time.
Blake has been working with wealthy families and institutional investors since graduating from college in 2016 and joined the former Luminous Capital team at First Republic Investment Management. Additionally, Blake was part of the 22-person team that helped launch Evoke Wealth in the summer of 2019.
Blake received his BA in Economics with a minor in Business from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He resides in Santa Monica.
Mark is a Managing Partner at Evoke-ARIS. Mark has served as a financial advisor to wealthy families and institutional investors since 1993. He began his career at Goldman, Sachs & Co. and five years later joined Merrill Lynch to help build the Private Banking and Investment Group. In 2008, Mark and his partners founded Luminous Capital, which First Republic Bank acquired in 2012. While at First Republic, Mark served as a Senior Managing Director. Mark received his BS in business from the University of the Pacific (UOP) and an MBA from the Leavy School of Business at Santa Clara University. He was an NCAA collegiate golfer at UOP, and is an active supporter of SCS Noonan Scholars, a foundation providing funding and support for intercity college-bound youth. Mark lives in Manhattan Beach with his wife and has two adult children.
Alex is a Managing Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer at Evoke | ARIS. Alex has 21 years of experience as an investment consultant managing multibillion-dollar portfolios. He began his career at Merrill Lynch, where he led one of the firm’s largest institutional consulting groups, advising more than $10 billion in assets with an average client size of approximately $300 million. After Merrill, Alex co-founded ARIS, where he, along with co-founder Damien Bisserier, oversaw the firm’s research and client service efforts.
Alex focuses on advising large pension funds, foundations, endowments, and ultra-high-net-worth families. He works with his clients in a variety of financial areas including developing investment policy statements, managing asset allocation, selecting managers, monitoring portfolio performance, and creating financial plans.
Alex is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®), a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®), a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), and a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®). Barron’s magazine has repeatedly ranked him as one of America’s Top 100 Independent Financial Advisors, Top 1,200 Financial Advisors and Top 1,000 Financial Advisors.
Alex graduated cum laude from University of California, Santa Barbara, with degrees in business economics and law. He earned a JD from the University of California, Hastings Law School, and is a licensed attorney in California.
Alex is a prolific writer. His book titled Balanced Asset Allocation: How to Profit in Any Economic Climate, was released in late 2014. The article introducing the premise of the book was recognized with the IMCA 2012 Stephen L. Kessler Writing Award as well as in the Wall Street Journal, Market Watch, Money News, Fidelity.com, and Wall Street Daily.
He has been interviewed on Bloomberg Television and BBC as well as for articles in the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s and other publications. Alex has also contributed articles on asset allocation and long-term equity market cycles to Investments and Wealth Monitor, a national publication of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA), and Advisor Perspectives, a leading publisher for financial professionals.
Michael is a Senior Vice President and responsible for the Evoke private funds platform operations. Michael has over ten years of operational, financial reporting, and managerial experience in the private equity and hedge fund industry.
Before joining Evoke Wealth, Michael was a Director at First Republic Investment Management in Los Angeles, serving as a key operator of the Altair private funds platform. Michael started his finance career with Ernst & Young in Los Angeles, providing audit and capital markets advisory services to the global private equity and hedge fund clients.
Michael earned a dual B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration with honors from the University of Southern California. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the California Society of CPAs.
Sergio is a Senior Vice President at Evoke-ARIS. Sergio has more than 20 years of experience working with institutional and high net worth investors. He began his career at Merrill Lynch’s institutional consulting group, where he served as a Vice President and Senior Investment Associate. Sergio joined ARIS at its launch in 2014. Sergio’s primary areas of focus include investment performance measurement and attribution, portfolio analysis, institutional client service, and investment policy review and development. He also serves as the Assistant Fund Manager for the Advanced Research Alpha Fund.
Prior to starting his career at Merrill, Sergio served in the U.S. Army, rising to the position of a Field Artillery Crew Chief. He served the initial three years of his tour in Baumholder, Germany, and his military training includes the U.S Army’s Primary Leadership Development Course (PLDC) and Air Assault School.
Sergio earned a master’s degree in finance (MSF) from Northeastern University, graduating with honors. He also has an undergraduate degree in operations management.
Sergio holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation, through the Investments & Wealth Institute (formerly IMCA) and the Wharton School.
Qi is a Senior Investment Research Analyst at Evoke-ARIS. Qi has over 5 years investment research experience. He began his career as an Investment Analyst for a private equity residential firm, where he assisted with portfolio evaluation and financial modeling. In 2017, Qi joined ARIS as a Research Analyst, where he was responsible for client performance reporting and assisting with ARIS’ investment research.
Qi earned a master’s degree in Financial Engineering (MFE) from University of Southern California in spring 2020. He also graduated with two bachelor’s degrees in Applied Mathematics (with a concentration in Finance) and Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley in spring 2015.
