Kim Ip,

Kim is a Partner at Evoke Advisors. Kim has served as a financial adviser to wealthy families and institutional clients since 2005, when she began her wealth management career at Merrill Lynch, leading research and operations for the team in the Private Banking and Investment Group. In 2008, Kim and her partners founded Luminous Capital, where she served as the Chief Investment Officer and advised select clients until First Republic Bank acquired the firm in 2012. At First Republic, Kim served as a Managing Director and was a member of the Alternative Investments Committee, (the bank’s private investments platform), as well as a member of the firm’s Asset Allocation Committee. Prior to wealth management, Kim spent 12 years in investment banking at major firms, including Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers, where she was responsible for raising approximately $5 billion in the public and private capital markets.

Kim received a BS in economics from Rutgers University, an MBA in finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Based in San Diego where she lives with her husband, Kim serves on the Scripps Clinic & Green Hospital Advisory Board and actively supports animal charities, including Road Dogs & Rescue.
